Multi-generations enjoy Grandparents’ Day in the Linnaeus Teaching Garden.

The Linnaeus Teaching Garden sponsors Grandparents’ Day annually in the fall. Grandparents’ Day is a wonderful time for seniors to spend a special day with their grandchildren, pass along their knowledge of gardening, and share their love of the outdoors.

Each year we try to have something special for all.

For example, we have featured fairy gardens to explore, harpists from the Midwest Harp Academy, face painting by Matt Schone & Co., homemade cookies, and garden crafts for purchase. All visitors receive a family photograph, displayed in a beautifully designed folder as a memento of the occasion.  In addition, the first 100 grandmothers to arrive receive a “tussie mussie,” a nosegay of fresh herbs and assorted flowers.

Grandparents’ Day for 2019 will be scheduled later this year.
